The Deputy Director General of the Asue/Ogie PDP Edo 2024 Campaign Management Council, Dr. Pedro Obaseki, has minimized the impact of Nyesom Wike, especially outside of Rivers State, implying that Wike’s notoriety is being overblown. Claiming that Wike would encounter opposition in Benin, he questioned if Wike could choose the next governor of Lagos, calling him nothing more than a “motor park guy”.
He expressed concern that Wike’s perceived lack of humility could eventually lead to his downfall, reminding him that his rise from Obio-Akpor to his current position was by God’s grace. Obaseki emphasized that he had no time for Wike, noting his own academic achievements long before Wike’s university days.
He said in an interview with TVC, “Who is he? Is he a benin man? Can Wike decide who becomes governor of Lagos? You guys are over bloating this guy, forget that guy, come on. Make he come Benin nah, he go hear whin. One guy wey him be motor park guy. Abeg, make he go
On this Wike matter, when una dey talk everytime , I want to quote Chinua Achebe, he said those for whom nuts have been cracked for them by benevolent spirits should not forget to be humble. I just pray one day that Wike does not become the voluminous victim of his lack of humility. He should be grateful that a boy from the backwater house of Obio-Akpor becomes where he is by God’s grace. i was already a university lecturer by the time wike was entering 200 level.
