PDP Rivers: Mpigi, If You Like, Send Me Another Letter, I Won’t Appear Because I’m With Pres Tinubu

 

In a public statement, Senator Barinada Mpigi, who represents Rivers State’s Southeast Senatorial District, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek reelection in the general election of 2027. He asked the President to finish a number of ongoing projects, such as the Badagry Express Road, the coastline road, and other constructions extending from Calabar to Rivers State. He further challenged members of his own party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stating that no one within the party could compete with Tinubu. He declared his unwavering support for the President and dismissed any attempts by the PDP to summon him, stating that he would not appear because of his full backing for Tinubu.

He said in a live coverage by Symfoni, “I am calling on Mr. President unwaveringly, demanding him to come openly to also contest the 2027 general election as President Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria so that you can finish all the numerous projects, ranging from the coastal road to the Badagry Express Road and all the ones we are doing from Calabar down here.

We are also beneficiaries, the roads that are being done, the concreting that is being done by Mr. President is super. What do we have to say? I don’t think there’s anybody that can come up in the People’s Democratic Party that can contend with that, and I’m challenging all the people in the People’s Democratic Party I belong to.
