The Nigerian military recently disclosed the circumstances surrounding the arrest of a prominent figure inside the banned Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB. As the nation grapples with widespread insecurity, the Nigerian Military had been called to take pragmatic actions to ensure that all anti-military groups and terrorists are arrested, particularly Bello Turji whose actions dared the competency of the Armed Forces.

In light of this, the Nigerian Military in a recent statement by a verified source who pleaded anonymity and made available to the general public by news outlet, VANGUARD today being Friday the 13th day of September 2024, has come out to reveal that a top commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has been arrested. In his statements, he revealed what was found with him when he was arrested and pointed out that the arrest was possible as a result of a joint effort between the Military and officials of the Department of State Security Service otherwise known as DSS.

‘In his words’

“On September 9, 2024, a combined team of the DSS and the military apprehended a high profile commander of the proscribed IPOB. The arrest followed intelligence, which confirmed his active involvement in the coordination of IPOB activities in Ebonyi State.

‘’The arrested commander had recruited several mercenaries in preparation for further attacks in Ebonyi State.” He said
