Shehu Sani explains why, during a 1960 UN meeting, a Nigerian man pretended to be sleeping.

 

Senator Shehu Sani, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former congressman from Kaduna who represented the state’s Central delegation in the National Assembly, has clarified why Nigerian Jaja Wachukwu feigned sleepiness during a 1960 UN conference.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

In the post that Senator Shehu Sani shared on his official X handle, he said Jaja Wachukwu acted as if he was sleeping during the meeting because he was denied the right to speak against a racist remark. He said his action was a form of protest to show that everything else was boring at the UN meeting.
