Don Pedro Obaseki “How Can We Trust a Commissioner of Police Who’s a Classmate of Nyesom Wike?”

 

A well-known Edo State PDP member named Don Pedro Obaseki has expressed grave doubts about the honesty of Nimo Edwin-Iwo, the present commissioner of police. Obaseki brought up the fact that Edwin-Iwo and Nyesom Wike had been classmates for a long time, casting doubt on Edwin-Iwo’s competence to preside over a nonviolent election for governor of Edo State.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

During an interview on Channels Television, Obaseki elaborated on his stance, stating that the federal government’s decision to appoint someone with such a close relationship to Wike could compromise the electoral process. He emphasized that having an ally of Wike in a position of authority, particularly in law enforcement, is problematic.

He said, “Federal government appointed a classmate of Nyesom Wike as the Commissioner of Police in Edo State. We have said that Nimo Edwin-Iwo cannot superintend over peace in our state when he is Nyesom Wike’s ally.”

Furthermore, Obaseki noted that another close associate of Wike has been appointed as the electoral commissioner for Edo State, further intensifying his concerns. He argued that Wike has publicly declared himself an adversary of Edo State, which makes the appointment of his associates to critical roles not only inappropriate but also a potential threat to the electoral process.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
