Dr. Moses Paul has made public what Peter Obi stated when he was provided an umbrella in Edo state during a period of intense rain. In a post that Dr. Moses Paul shared on his official X handle, he said when people tried to shield Peter Obi during heavy downpour in Edo state, he responded by saying that a leader must not be different from his people both in public and in private. Peter Obi said since the rain is falling on both sides, it should continue.

Dr. Moses Paul stated that Peter Obi campaigned under the rain from 12pm to 6pm.

Here is what he wrote on his official X handle;

“A few minutes into the campaign in Benin, a heavy downpour threatened to disrupt the event. While many would have called it off, Peter Obi refused, even when others suggested it. When they tried to shield him with umbrellas, he said, “A leader must not be different from his people, both in public and private.
