Wike revealed that Awuse had been seriously ill for the past six months, to the point where some people mistakenly believed he had passed away. He said Awuse has since recovered and is now healthy. In Wike’s words: “Let me also say Chief Awuse who has not been around for the past 6 months, most of you may not know that he was very down. It was rumoured that he has died but to the glory of God, he is back and healthy. Some of us visited him yesterday. He is one of our leaders and he stood firm.
