After the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disciplined him for proclaiming the party dead, Senator Dino Melaye, a well-known PDP member and former Kogi Central representative in the National Assembly, responded.
According to Punch News, the Kogi State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed the Ijumu local executive committee to commence disciplinary actions against Senator Dino Melaye, following his controversial statement in which he proclaimed the party to be “dead.”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
The party’s elders, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, stated that,
“Melaye’s political ambitions have crumbled to the point where he can no longer secure even a local councilor position. Senator Melaye has become a burden to the party. His accusations against the current leadership are hypocritical, as he himself was granted a governorship ticket despite the party’s awareness of his inability to win even a primary election.”.
However, Senator Dino Melaye has now reacted to the report. In a post that he shared on his official X on Tuesday, Dino Melaye vowed to resist any attempts by undemocratic elements to exert their influence.
He declared that he will not permit such forces to operate in his presence and warned that those who engage in anti-democratic activities will ultimately face consequences, using the metaphor of a monkey going to the market and not returning to convey the idea that their actions will have irreversible repercussions.
