Bode George: Atiku met with Southern Govs, said the presidential candidate must come from the South

 

Former PDP National Chairman and current BOT member Chief Bode George discussed the value of integrity and equity in politics. According to him, Atiku Abubakar, a northerner, won the PDP’s presidential nomination, but he chose a southerner as his vice presidential candidate. This decision made Governor Wike feel disappointed and unjustly treated, as he believed the agreement was not fully followed.

In an interview with Arise TV, Bode George pointed out that the internal divisions within the PDP could affect the party’s performance in the upcoming elections, and that these disagreements could have wider implications for the country.

Bode George said, ”Let us stand by the truth because it’s only the truth that will liberate us. When we had the primary election, the party was divided into two. Even the vice Presidential candidate that Atiku chose, he had a meeting with all the Southern Governors in Asaba before the party primary election and he said that the party Presidential candidate must come from the South.
