Former federal politician Senator Elisha Abbo has talked about the difficulties he encountered after taking office. In an interview with Arise TV, Abbo stated that he was building a 23-bedroom mansion in Mubi, Adamawa State, with nine parlors and a swimming pool, before he took office. Abbo said that once he became a senator, he took on the burdens of others, particularly orphans and vulnerable people in his community. He said their struggles became his own, and he felt a deep responsibility to support them. He described how seeing the difficult conditions some people live in often moved him to tears.
In Abbo’s words: “I was building a mansion with 23 bedrooms, 9 parlours and a swimming pool in the heart of Mubi, when I became a senator I stopped it. I took over carrying people’s burdens: orphans and vulnerable people. Their problems became my problems and sometimes when I see them I weep.
