Lolo Nneka:Soldiers sent to Igbo land to tackle insecurity have literally abandoned their mission

 

In response to the soldiers stationed at checkpoints throughout the country’s southeast to address the security issues currently plaguing the region, the National Igbo Women Assembly (IWA) released a statement on August 16, 2024, which was signed by the assembly’s president, Lolo Nneka Chimezie. According to Vanguard, the President of the National Igbo Women Assembly (IWA), Lolo Nneka Chimezie said “The soldiers sent to Igbo land to tackle insecurity have literally abandoned their mission to engage in extortion and humiliation of the people of the region. It was always embarrassing to note that criminals would attack and abduct people at points not far from some of these checkpoints yet they would not be apprehended. Since they have failed to secure the people they were asked to protect, we demand that the Federal Government withdraw them immediately, police should be encouraged to protect the people as they are more approachable than soldiers who are always harsh on the people, irrespective of age.”

Lolo Nneka Chimezie while reacting to the threat circulating on social media demanding the forced relocation of the good people Igbo from Lagos State and other Southwestern parts of the country, said the way the administration of the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu was handling the matter suggests that the good people of Igbo were different laws for different people in the country. She also called on President Bola Tinubu to release the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and Chief Nwajagu, and he should order the immediate arrest of those threatening Igbo to leave Lagos.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
