According to Femi Falana: There Is A Man Who Is On The Run After Looting A Small State To The Tune Of N80Bn'

According to claims made by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN Femi Falana, a former governor is currently at large after allegedly embezzling 80 billion naira from the state. He highlighted that this high level of corruption serves as a negative example for the younger people. He stated that such blatant corruption incites the young people to mimic these actions on a smaller scale during protests by looting warehouses. He emphasized the need for addressing both the root causes of corruption and the underlying socioeconomic issues to curb this destructive trend and restore societal stability.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”We have 18.5 million out or school children and that is the figure by UNICEF. And over 60% of that figure can be located in the North. So there are young people and there are children who are permanently on the street. So when there is any little gathering of people, they are bound to join. And when it is a protest for young people and for those who are hungry and have not eaten for days, they see it as an opportunity to join the looting culture in the culture.

And when I talk of looting culture, I’m talking of grand looting by members of the ruling class. There are those who are facing trials for looting our treasury to the tine of N109Bn. There is a man who is a former governor that is on the run after looting a small state to the tune of N80Bn and he’s being charged by EFCC.
