Abiodun highlighted that President Tinubu initiated significant policies immediately upon taking office, policies that previous administrations had not managed to implement.

He noted that one of Tinubu’s first actions was to deregulate the economy and award public servants. Recently, Tinubu signed the minimum wage bill and began implementing student loans for tertiary institutions, a first in Nigeria’s history.

Intervention schemes for the poor, elderly, and vulnerable are being rolled out nationwide, and governors have received palliatives to ensure people have food on their tables.

Governor Abiodun mentioned that the President has removed import restrictions on selected items, leading to a reduction in rice prices to ₦40,000. Agricultural inputs, including maize, corn, fertilizer, and sorghum, have also been provided within the first year of Tinubu’s administration.

”Tinubu has announced that he’s removing import restriction on selected items, and I know that this week the Minister of Agriculture said rice was beginning to be sold at N40,000. He has provided for Agric inputs, he provided for maize, corn, fertilizer, Sorghum, all within one year.

“What do we expect from a man who has a proven track of knowing what to do while in office? He was governor of Lagos for eight years, Lagos is bigger than so many African countries and you will agree with me that the current condition is not peculiar to Nigeria alone,” he said.

Abiodun urged Nigerians to give President Tinubu time to see the impact of these policies. He pointed out that the naira has stabilized and highlighted the recent intervention where crude oil transactions with the Dangote refinery and other refineries will be conducted in naira, reducing the pressure on foreign exchange demand. This move, he said, would have a multiplier effect on the economy.

He stated that President Tinubu is fully dedicated to his role and committed to ensuring that food is available on every Nigerian’s table, asking for patience and support from the populace.

Let Nigerians give Mr President and all of us time. He’s mindful. His number one role is to provide food for people on the table of everyone. He has said severally, don’t pity me. I asked for this job. I campaigned for it. I spent money and invested to be president. And this is the only job I have. That’s my message to Nigeria,” he said.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
