A member representing Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo, Federal Constituency, Anambra State, Uzokwe Ifeanyi, who makes N936,000 a month, talked candidly about the execution of a 50% wage cut that was authorized in July in an interview with Channels TV. He emphasized the transparency of the current speaker, RT Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, highlighting the openness of their plenary sessions and the absence of any secrecy.

He acknowledged his lack of expertise regarding the specific procedures involved in the salary reduction process but explained that it was initiated around mid-July and will take time to be fully executed

He said, “Here is my July salary, I earn N936,000, we approve that 50 percent cut in July amd it has to go on process. We do not pay ourselves. It is just like the president saying fuel subsidy is gone, the next day, they will implement it. If Mr. President says he will reduce fuel price to N400, they will tell you that it will take a process, that they are documenting it.
