According to Sahara Reporters, the former Kogi State Governor made it known that since the alleged offense happened when he was serving as the Kogi State Governor, therefore the legal proceedings should be conducted in Kogi State.
It should be recalled that Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, is investigating the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, over the Allegation of financial misconduct and misuse of public funds when he was serving as the governor of Kogi State.
The Federal High Court situated in Abuja, had earlier set aside the contempt proceedings instituted by the former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, against the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Mr Olanipekun Olukoyede.
The Appeal Court, reportedly granted an ex parte motion for stay of proceedings of contempt application against the EFCC Chairman, Mr Olukoyede by Yahaya Bello.
However, the Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice Joseph O.K. Oyewole, assisted by Hon Justice P. C. Obiora JCA and Hon. Justice Okon Abang JCA, granted Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC’s application to serve the processes in the appeal by substituted means on the former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
