According to the report by Daily Post on Wednesday, Shettima criticized the Biafra agitation, alleging that it has been hijacked by criminal elements.
However, he acknowledged that some Igbos are genuinely seeking fairness, equity, and justice.
Shettima said that the average Igbo person wants to remain a Nigerian, citing demands for justice, equity, and fair play as the primary concerns.
He said, “As a Nigerian, I know that IPOB can’t win a referendum today because an average Igbo man wants to remain a Nigerian. All they are demanding is justice, equity, and fair play.”
The leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has continued to remain in detention since his rearrest in June 2021.
It should be recalled that Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and arraigned on charges that bordered on treason.
Despite court orders granting him bail, the Nigerian Government has refused to release him.
However, Kanu has continued to caution against the killings and insecurity in the Southeast from his detention.
However, the recent statement from the AYCF has generated mixed reactions from members of the public, with many taking to the comments section to share their views on it.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
