He noted that this decision was in accordance with the state assembly’s law, demonstrating that the practice, though not stipulated in the national constitution, is legally supported by state legislation. By referencing the continuity of this practice across different administrations, he underscored the legitimacy of the caretaker committee system authorized by Governor Sim Fubara as per the state assembly’s law.
He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”The state assembly was the one whom in their own law enacted the creation of the caretaker committee and it was enjoyed by former Governor Peter Odili, Rotimi Amaechi, and even Governor Wike.
