He stated that his displacement solely pertains to his role as the chairman of the council of traditional rulers, a position he himself had once inherited from a predecessor. He also argued that despite his removal from the chairmanship, Sergeant Awuse remains an integral part of the traditional leadership structure in Rivers state.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”This is not the first time in the history of Rivers state that a chairman of the Traditional Rulers is removed. Sergeant Awuse was not removed as the Eze of his community in Emohua. He was removed as the chairman of the council of traditional rulers. He also took over from somebody.
