Minimum Wage: Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s announcement that Lagos would be paying N85,000

 

Following talks with the union, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu revealed that the state’s minimum wage, which is N85,000, had been decided upon. Sanwo-Olu explained in an interview with Seun Okin on Channels Television that the state’s affordability and capacity rather than its ability to compete with other states were the basis for the choice.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to Sanwo-Olu, the increased minimum wage reflects the premium lifestyle associated with living in Lagos State.

Sanwo-Olu was quoted saying;

“I am glad to let you know that the minimum wage for Lagos which we have conversed and discussed with our Union is N85,000 today and it is not a competition. it is a function of affordability and a function of capacity”.
