In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Mic On Podcast, Sowore said in 1992, he and other students drove away Abiola from their campus because they thought he was too friendly with the military government led by Babangida. He said they did not trust Babangida to willingly hand over power to a civilian government but they were relieved when Babangida agreed to hold elections in 1993. He said they decided to support MKO Abiola in the election to end military rule but the election did not happen as planned.
In Sowore’s words: “We drove away MKO Abiola from our campus, the University of Lagos, because we felt he was too close to the military and we did not trust Babangida who was the military Head of State at that time to handover power”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
