Akande emphasized that this should be the last time such a snub occurs, implying that Nigeria’s president deserves better treatment. While he acknowledged that President Ramaphosa may have greeted President Tinubu with a handshake, which was not captured by cameras, he insisted that the seating arrangement was disrespectful.
“This should be the last time that they treated the Nigerian president the way they treated President Tinubu in South Africa,” Akande said. “The very idea of President Tinubu representing Nigeria, taking a second-row seat is completely unacceptable.”
