Ezeocha Nzeh, A Justice Promoted to Appeal Court Stood Behind to Give a Judgement Before Taking Off

Political analyst Ezeocha Nzeh criticized the Kano judiciary in an interview with AIT, citing a contentious ruling rendered by an Appeal Court judge who was just promoted. Nzeh alleged that this move has created the perception that Nigerian courts are like markets where judgements are bought and sold. He expressed the need for the judiciary to be independent and to stand up to maintain law and order in the country.

According to him, “The judiciary is again working in Kano. A judge or a justice that has been appointed and promoted to the appeal court stood behind to give a judgement before taking off. The judiciary is making people feel that Nigerian courts are now like markets.
