Police in Anambra raid an IPOB camp and detain four suspects.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed branch, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), have reportedly successfully invaded a camp in Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area, of the state, according to reports from PUNCH.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

The operation, which resulted in the arrest of four suspects, was conducted by a joint security force following intelligence reports of planned attacks on security personnel and innocent civilians.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the state police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the raid and identified one of the suspects as Maduabuchi Nwafor, a.k.a. Omenkpo ‘M,’ a 32-year-old native of Ufuma.

Nwafor is alleged to be a native doctor who prepares charms for the group and uses his shrine for initiation ceremonies and meetings.

Another suspect, whose name has been withheld, has reportedly confessed to participating in the enforcement of the illegal sit-at-home order on May 30th, 2024.

The suspect is currently assisting the police with their investigation.

Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Itam has ordered a thorough and extensive investigation to uncover the hideouts of the insurgents allegedly seeking to disrupt peace and development in the state.

The police command has also pledged to protect the identities of informants to ensure their safety and encourage the flow of information.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
