In a video shared by Channels TV, Kukah pointed out that Paul Biya has been the president of Cameroon since 1982, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has ruled Equatorial Guinea for 43 years, and Denis Sassou Nguesso has been in power in the Republic of Congo for 38 years. He said these leaders have held onto power for decades and have allowed little or no room for opposition.
In Kukah’s words: “Mbasogo has been president for 43 years, Sassou Nguesso has been president for 38 years. I am therefore making the point that there is a correlation between a certain kind of stability and development.
