Narrating her ordeal, Halima said, “One of the attackers demanded my phone, but I said that I do not have one. He then told me that I would witness their trouble. I was slapped while another gang member held a knife to my son’s throat, saying that they would kill my child if I refused their offer. From there, they assaulted me.”
While paraded by the police, One of the suspected attackers, Abdul Basid, said, “I and Al-Amin started assaulting her, but we fled when we heard people raise an alarm against thieves.”
Another suspect, Usman Abubakar, said, “I forced myself on her after Al-Amin and Basid assaulted her.”
