He took issue with former Governor Peter Odili’s declaration during the crisis designating Fubara as Rivers’ political leader.
In an interview with Channels TV, Lloyd stated that Odili should have taken a more diplomatic approach, similar to how the Tor Tiv of Benue State resolved a feud between Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume. He said Odili should bring Wike and Fubara together to resolve their differences peacefully rather than take sides.
