In a video recently shared on YouTube by Arise TV, the girl whose face was not revealed, said that she was able to escape during an internal fight within the terrorist group that resulted in the death of the group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau. The said girl who is among the freed Chibok Schoolgirls that underwent a de-radicalization program and are now living in a house provided by the Borno State government expressed dissatisfaction with their living conditions. She said that promises made to them, such as the provision of individual houses with documents, have not been fulfilled. She said they struggle to access basic necessities like detergent and soap for washing clothes.
In her words: “I escaped during the infighting in Boko Haram group which led to death of Abubakar Shekau. They promised us that they would build houses for us so that every girl would have her own house free of charge and every girl would be issued the house documents.
