Despite Millwall’s early pressure, Leicester began to assert their dominance, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall orchestrating their attacking movements. Jamie Vardy had a chance to put the Foxes ahead but saw his effort comfortably saved by Matija Šarkić.

As the first half progressed, Millwall threatened on the counter-attack, with Jake Cooper’s header forcing Hermansen into action. However, it was in the second half that Millwall struck the decisive blow, as Ryan Longman’s powerful strike found the back of the net, leaving Leicester stunned.

Despite Leicester’s efforts to find an equalizer, Millwall’s defense held firm, with Šarkić denying Ricardo Pereira and Billy Mitchell clearing Kelechi Iheanacho’s late header off the line.

The victory for Millwall comes as a timely boost in their battle for Championship survival, with Neil Harris’ side now having secured 10 points from four matches at home since his return.

Meanwhile, Leicester’s defeat sees them suffer consecutive away losses for the first time this season. However, they remain at the summit of the Championship table.
