FIFA has responded to their triumph in the interim. After winning the first leg 1-0, Nigerian women’s national team qualified for the Olympic tournament by holding South Africa to a scoreless draw in Pretoria tonight.
The finest player in Pretoria was Super Falcons goalie Nnadozie, who made numerous saves to prevent South Africa from scoring. She performed well tonight, and the management will be pleased.
The Super Falcons still have room for improvement as they were poor in the attack today. They need to learn to create more goal-scoring opportunities and take them.
However, FIFA has reacted as the Super Falcons broke their Olympic jinx since 2008 with a 1-0 aggregate victory over South Africa today, securing their qualification to Paris 2024.
