They Must Not Go Scot-Free - Primate Ayodele Urges Arrest of Those Who Killed 16 Soldiers in Delta

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, condemned the murders of twelve soldiers and three officers in Delta State on Sunday by enraged youths. He said, according to Daily Post, that this is a major worry for Nigeria’s security apparatus and conveys a bad image of the nation’s capacity to protect its people.

A group of soldiers from the 181 Amphibious Battalion were sent to the Bomadi region to help with a conflict in the Okuoma community. Unfortunately, they were tragically killed while carrying out their peaceful mission on Thursday.

A commanding officer, one captain, two majors, and twelve soldiers were among those who were killed.

Primate Ayodele, in a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, expressed strong disapproval of the killing of three officers and 12 soldiers by enraged youths in Delta State yesterday. He described it as a regrettable and unimaginable event, highlighting the irony of those who protect and defend the nation falling victim to such barbaric acts.

’It’s a wrong signal to our military and security. I pray for the lost souls. This is not a war; they went on a peaceful mission but were killed. This is nothing but a civilian coup against the military.’’

Ayodele urged the Nigerian military to exert every effort to apprehend the perpetrators and subject them to legal consequences. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, advocating for military action to avenge the fallen soldiers.

He implored the military to capture and prosecute these offenders, stating that they are not mere civilians. He warned that ignoring this would jeopardize the safety of Nigerians.

He emphasized, ‘’If it was a bandit operation they went for, we could have accepted it, but this was a peaceful mission without ammunition; why must they be attacked? This attack is sad.”

‘’It is time for the military to let those criminals know that there is a military in Nigeria; this is unfair and satanic. If we don’t respect that uniform, it means we don’t respect the president. I am in support of the military to avenge the deaths of the deceased.’’

‘’I want the military to arrest these culprits and bring them to book. These people are not just civilians. This must not be taken for granted because if it goes without any arrest, it means Nigerians are not safe.”

“This must not go unattended because it will mean fueling more attacks on the military; they must not go scot-free.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
