During a Mic On Podcast conversation with Seun Okinbaloye, Bello said that, back in the day, he used to go to the church where Oby’s husband, a pastor, spoke. Because of their past closeness, he claimed, Ezekwesili’s silence about claims that his family had animosity toward Christians frightened him. He could even remember that Ezekwesili had written the reference letter he required to get into Georgetown University, proof of their strong relationship.

We have problems with Christians, and since she refers to my father as her brother, I questioned him about why she doesn’t even explain that this isn’t who we are. My dad told me to just get over it. I was already unhappy with her as a result. I went to Georgetown before that, and Oby wrote Georgetown a recommendation. That was our level of proximity. I attended the same high school as her kid.
