He acknowledged the Obidients shared belief in the idea of one Nigeria and the perception that Peter Obi would be an excellent President. However, he pointed out a crucial shortfall in their preparation for the practicalities of elections, emphasizing the necessity of having representatives in every polling booth. He stressed the importance of moving beyond media rhetoric and urged a self-evaluation of the party’s relevance to the electoral process.
He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”If you look at the Labour Party as an opposition. Labour Party nearly got the Presidency based on the reputation of one man and not the party itself. Is that party building itself today? My perception is that the answer is No. Are the Obidients being woven into a cohesive group with a central message? The answer is No.
They believe in one Nigeria correctly, they believe Peter Obi would have made a fantastic President which I share that view. But are they preparing for the environment in which you must have somebody in every polling booths to represent you?
