Kenneth Okonkwo Responds As 60 Lawmakers Want Nigeria To Change From Presidential To Parliamentary

Lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent member of the Labour Party (LP), has responded to statements made by several parliamentarians suggesting that Nigeria should transition to a parliamentary form of government. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

As per VANGUARD, sixty MPs expressed their opinion that Nigeria should transition from a presidential government to a parliamentary one.

However, Kenneth Okonkwo has now shared his thoughts. In a report that was published on SUNDAY SUN, Okonkwo said that it is an effort by the lawmakers to savage their country from eventual demise.

Sunday Sun quoted Kenneth Okonkwo as saying;

“Some member of the National Assembly gathered together and demanded a return of Nigeria to the parliamentary system of government. This is a desperate effort by some concerned lawmakers to savage the shop of their country from eventual demise. Parliamentary is a democratic system of government in which the executive proceed from the legislature, normally called the parliament and in which the party or a coalition of parties with the highest number of members in the legislature form the executive.
