Police that Couldn't buy fuel for their vehicles were buying water, biscuits for protesters - According to Sowore

Former AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has discussed the recent nationwide protests organized by the Nigerian Labour Congress. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Sowore praised the union for always holding nonviolent protests in an interview with AIT. He claimed that despite having few resources, the police in Lagos gave demonstrators drink and biscuits. He stated that the cops’ generosity meant the protest was unusually quiet.

Sowore who also participated in the protest said he did not know why the protest which was supposed to be for two days was called off after the first day, however, he dismissed the fear of violence as a contributing factor.

In Omoyele Sowore’s words: “The Police that couldn’t afford to buy fuel for their vehicles were buying biscuits and water for protesters. That must be some ultra-peaceful protest for police to be handing out confectionaries and water”. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
