According to SAN Bashir Dalhatu, the chairman of the board of trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum, former president Muhammadu Buhari gave national projects like the Second Niger Bridge top priority, despite the fact that vital infrastructure like the 30 year-old Kano and Maiduguri roads remained unfinished. He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”We [Northerners] are brought up to see Nigeria as one entity and not to discriminate against other sections of the country. You see a Northerner as President and he’s more concerned about doing the Second Niger Bridge. When there is Kano, Maiduguri roads that have been there from 30 years and still not completed.
