According to reports, Manchester United has agreed to pay Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim more than his release clause in order to secure his services and move him and his coaching staff to Old Trafford as soon as feasible. This additional payment is believed to cover the departure of key staff members, such as assistant coaches and fitness trainers.
The Portuguese club, which currently tops the league with an impressive winning streak, is reluctant to let Amorim go in the middle of a successful season.
Sources close to Sporting expressed frustration, stating they were “caught off guard by this mid-season move” and are now pressed to find a suitable replacement quickly.
Amorim’s contract also has a 30-day notice period, which Sporting is reportedly pushing United to compensate to expedite his move to Manchester.
Although discussions progressed swiftly, Amorim may still need to oversee a few more matches, including a key Champions League game against Manchester City, before making the transition to the Premier League.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who now oversees United’s football operations, seems fully committed to building a top-tier management team.
This is evidenced by the club’s recent push to recruit former Newcastle executive Dan Ashworth and other key figures to strengthen the leadership team.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
