Dr. Samuel Nwanosike complained about being summoned to a court panel investigating assaults on the Local Government Secretariat in an interview with TVC News. Nwanosike claimed that he believes the current governor has a political motivation for becoming involved since he disagrees with some of his actions.

Nwanosike clarified that he and the Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State used to get along well. But he did not agree with the governor’s approach to running the government and disregarding court decisions.

He believed that instead of concentrating on providing fair and just services to the people of Rivers State, the governor was inciting needless disputes.

Nwanosike claimed that, as a result of this dispute, the governor chose to close the hotel he had constructed in Port Harcourt. Nwanosike said he was informed that he needed to pay a fine for breaking building regulations. But he was handed a massive bill of 550 million naira instead of the usual fine of 2 million naira.

According to Nwanosike, the purpose of this fine was to penalize him for criticizing the governor. He is contesting the ruling in court because he feels that the action against him was unjust and motivated more by personal grievances than by the law.

In his words, “Initially, when the governor alleged that I was part of those that participated in the crisis that happened after the election in Rivers State, I had the opportunity of speaking through your platform to Nigerians.”

“I was up here in Harvard, carrying on with my studies in Harvard Business School, and I’m still here; I’m not done yet with my program. So when I was alerted that my name was published, I was shocked.”

“It just reminded me that a political witch hunt is something that can push a man to any level. Like you know, I built a hotel in the GRA part of Port Harcourt, my state.”

“And my friend then, who is now the governor of Rivers State, who believes that because I disagreed with him disobeying court judgments… and I’ve said, I’ll not be part of the shenanigans… He decided to shut down my hotel.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
