Speaking at the Alfred Diette-Spiff Civic Centre, Governor Fubara assured civil servants and contractors that salary payments would proceed as scheduled from tomorrow, despite the court’s directive. He also confirmed that allocations for the 23 Council Chairmen would be disbursed following completed Joint Accounts Allocation Committee procedures.
The thanksgiving service, marking one year since the State House of Assembly complex arson attack, featured performances by prominent gospel artists including Joe Praiz, Frank Edwards, and Asu Ekiye.
Reflecting on his administration’s achievements, Fubara highlighted his government’s resilience despite initial skepticism. “Despite predictions that we wouldn’t last a week, we have governed successfully for over a year,” he stated.
The governor addressed a violent confrontation from October 30 last year, characterizing it as an assassination attempt by individuals in police uniforms. He linked the incident to political adversaries who allegedly took advantage of his peace initiatives following President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the state’s political crisis.
While acknowledging that his peaceful approach may have given opponents tactical advantages, particularly in securing legal judgments after his withdrawal of cases against the Martin Amaewhule group, Fubara remained firm on his current stance regarding crisis resolution.
The event drew diverse attendance, including APC Chairman Emeka Beke and APP Chairman Sunny Wokekoro, with Pastor Uma Ukpai serving as guest preacher. Governor Fubara also emphasized his administration’s achievements in financial accountability and ongoing state-wide project execution, countering critics who doubted his ability to deliver on promises.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
