Bagos, who serves in the National Assembly, argued that while these measures may work within Abuja, the country’s capital, they are not practical when government officials need to travel to their hometowns or more remote areas of the country.
“They can do it within Abuja,” Bagos said, explaining that ministers or top officials may move around with just three cars in the city. However, he doubts they could safely travel to their hometowns with such a small group of security and vehicles, especially with the high levels of insecurity across Nigeria.
According to the lawmaker, officials would require much more protection when going to areas outside the capital, making the restrictions on the number of vehicles impractical.
“Let them enter their villages with three cars,” Bagos challenged, adding that they’d need a large security team to ensure their safety.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
