The Federal High Court’s ruling, which prevents the Central Bank of Nigeria from disbursing funds to Rivers State, has raised alarms among local government officials and contractors reliant on state allocations. However, Fubara maintained that his government will continue to meet its financial commitments, stating that worker salaries would be disbursed starting tomorrow. He also assured that allocations for the state’s 23 Council Chairmen are on track, with the Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC) procedures already finalized.
According to Channels Television, during the thanksgiving service held at the Alfred Diette-Spiff Civic Centre, Fubara urged his supporters to remain steadfast in the face of ongoing political crises. He reflected on the successes of his administration over the past year, including the successful conduct of local government elections and the maintenance of a full cabinet despite facing political opposition.
