APGA Response to Lawmaker’s Assault on Abuja Driver, Plans Sanctions

The House of Representatives representative for Aba North and South, Alex Ikwechegh, is accused of assaulting an e-hailing driver. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has denounced this behavior. In a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary Mazi Ejimofor Opara, APGA described Ikwechegh’s actions as “condemnable in all ramifications,” asserting that his behavior falls short of the party’s constitutional standards.

According to Daily Post, the party emphasized its commitment to human rights and the dignity of all individuals, regardless of their background.

 

 

Opara’s statement highlighted that the incident contradicts the values APGA stands for and announced the formation of a disciplinary committee to investigate the matter.

If the investigation finds Ikwechegh culpable, appropriate sanctions will be imposed according to the party’s constitution.

The party reiterated that all its members and elected officials are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and decorum in their public and private interactions.

APGA stated that it would not tolerate any conduct that does not align with the ideals of its founding principles, reaffirming its commitment to being a party that champions respect and dignity for all citizens.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
