Nigerians can’t stop talking after digging up an old video of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike criticizing parents who send their kids abroad to study law—just days after his own son bagged a Master’s degree in Law from King’s College, London.
In the throwback clip, the former Rivers State governor expressed disbelief over the practice, saying:
“Some of these courses, you don’t need to send them abroad. Why send someone to study English, Economics, or Law overseas when we have good faculties right here in Nigeria?”
The resurfaced video has sparked waves of debate online, with many Nigerians pointing out the irony between Wike’s past statements and his son’s foreign education. Social media users are having a field day questioning whether it’s hypocrisy or just a change of mind over time.
