Boko Haram commanders began to cry when their mothers who they had not seen for 4yrs called them—According to CDS

 

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, revealed how the military employed a novel tactic to persuade a few Boko Haram leaders to quit the organization. Speaking in a video shared by Symfoni TV, General Musa said the military gave the mothers of Boko Haram commanders their sons’ phone numbers so they could contact them. He said some of these commanders had not spoken to their mothers in over four years so when their mothers called them, they broke down in tears.

General Musa said that some of them decided to leave Boko Haram simply because their mothers urged them to do so.

In General Musa’s words: “We were able to get the phone numbers of their mothers, we got their own phone numbers and gave their mothers those phone numbers. Their mothers called them, they had not seen them for 4 or 5 years. Their top commanders, when their mothers called them they started crying.
