He implied that Kanu could easily run for and perhaps win important political positions like governorship or the presidency if he were freed today. Ofeyetan stressed that Kanu has unintentionally become a hero, especially in the Southeast, as a result of the government’s actions.

He contended that since Kanu’s influence has increased dramatically as a result of the government’s handling of his case, this unexpected outcome might lead to a surge of support for him if he decides to seek any kind of political position.

In a TVC interview, he stated, “If Nnamdi Kanu is released today, he may contest for president or win as governor in a landslide victory.”
