These disruptions, which occurred again on Monday, caused partial shutdowns of some major cities across the region and led to widespread economic distress.

The sit-at-home orders were initially linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Simon Ekpa-led Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, both of which have distanced themselves from the latest directives.

The Coalition, through a statement by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, expressed their frustration over the negative impact of these orders on the region’s economy and daily life.

“We cannot continue like this as a people. This madness must stop,” Ibem stated.

According to Ibem, these orders typically come from “unknown persons through voice notes and videos” circulated on social media, creating an atmosphere of fear and confusion in the affected areas.

The Coalition condemned the actions of these faceless individuals, describing the ongoing situation as one of economic sabotage.

COSEYL also urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene by addressing the root cause of the issue, which they believe is the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB.

The group called on Tinubu to release Kanu, stating that his continued incarceration has been exploited by individuals to create chaos in the region.

“We appeal to President Bola Tinubu to consider the release of Nnamdi Kanu from DSS custody to put a stop to all forms of economic sabotage which are injurious to the growth and development of the nation,” the statement read.

They argued that Kanu’s release would serve as a key step towards ending the manipulation of his detention by those causing unrest in the South-East.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
