Speaking during an event, Wike recounted a chilling analogy, comparing trust in the wrong people to unknowingly living with a snake. “That is why you have to be careful who you give power to,” Wike warned, emphasizing that not everyone who appears trustworthy has good intentions. “You never know when you’re living with a snake,” he said, reflecting on the deceit that can hide beneath the surface of political and personal relationships.
In his remarks, Wike acknowledged that divine protection had saved him from harm, expressing gratitude for God’s constant vigilance. “God protected you, the snake never bit you,” he noted, stressing the importance of daily prayers for safety and guidance. “If you have not been prayilng, continue to pray. I will never die,” Wike stated, underscoring his faith in God’s protection over his life and family.
He further reflected on the consequences that could have followed had the threat gone unnoticed. “Where would I have been today? Where would my wife and my children be?” Wike asked rhetorically, drawing attention to the devastating potential of betrayal by trusted individuals. His message called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and prayerful in both their personal and political lives.
According to him, That is why you have to be careful who you will give power to. See, that day, it’s said, “Let us all, these young men and that big senator.” Saying that, “We thank God for your life.” Who never knew, was living with a snake. Who never knew, but you must continue to thank Almighty God every day. If you have not been praying, continue to pray. I will never die. You can imagine where you are sleeping with a snake. God protected you, the snake never beat you. Ask me, where would I have been today? Where would my wife and my children be?
