The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been advised by Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, to urge former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Senate President Bukola Saraki to run for president in 2027 if the party intends to regain power, according to the Daily Post Newspaper.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Ayodele dismissed Atiku Abubakar as an unsuitable candidate, warning that another attempt by him to run for office would mark the final collapse of the PDP. In a personally issued statement, he suggested that Atiku should step back and support a stronger contender instead.
He emphasized that Jonathan remains the party’s best hope for a comeback, adding that a strategic alliance between Jonathan, Saraki, and other opposition factions could significantly improve the PDP’s chances.
“If the PDP is serious about winning, they must convince Jonathan to accept the challenge,” Ayodele stated. “Atiku is not the answer. His candidacy would be the final nail in the PDP’s coffin. He lacks the strength to unseat Tinubu.”
However, Ayodele acknowledged that Jonathan might be hesitant to enter the race due to uncertainty and fear. He urged the PDP to provide full backing and assurance to encourage his participation.
“Jonathan is reluctant because of fear—the fear of the unknown. The PDP must offer him unwavering support to convince him,” he stressed.
Ayodele further warned that without Jonathan as the candidate and a unified opposition, President Bola Tinubu would likely secure re-election in 2027. He asserted that the only way to defeat Tinubu is through a candidate who is bold, well-funded, and willing to use unconventional strategies.
“This election won’t be for the weak or complacent but for someone who is daring, fearless, and spiritually guided,”Ayodele declared.
He concluded by reiterating that Jonathan, with Saraki as an ally and a coalition of opposition groups, represents PDP’s best shot at victory. “Atiku should support a strong candidate, and right now, Jonathan is the only one who can save the PDP from its final downfall,” he affirmed.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
