The young man expressed how deeply he had been touched by a sermon Pastor Adeboye delivered more than ten years ago in Sousa. number of sermon tapes purchased from Pastor Adeboye at that event exceeded the sales of all other speakers combined. This testimony reveals a key lesson Pastor Adeboye has emphasized throughout his ministry: true success in fulfilling one’s destiny comes from surrendering to the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit propels the Word, lives are transformed, barriers are broken, and destinies are fulfilled.
According to him, “Last year, I was in Uganda, and a fairly young man who was at that meeting in Sousa—one of the members of the organizing committee—came to see me. He said, Sir, you ministered at Sousa more than ten years ago, and I have yet to recover from the impact of that ministration.”
“He continued, You may not know it, but the number of tapes that people bought from you was more than all the other tapes combined. What was it that those great men had never heard before? It wasn’t me speaking—it was the Holy Spirit propelling the Word and backing it up.”
