The divisive Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, has expressed his opinions on the Supreme Court’s decision about the state’s budget crisis until 2024. Amaewhule claimed in a video released by Channels TV that the ruling validated Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s misuse of public monies without adhering to the correct legal procedures.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Amaewhule mentioned that from the beginning to the end of 2024, Governor Fubara spent money collected from federal allocations and internally generated revenue without a properly approved budget. He stated that the state’s resources are meant for the people and should not be treated like personal funds.
In Amaewhule’s words: “The judgment of the Supreme Court has affirmed that the governor of Rivers State spent taxpayers’ money without an appropriation law.
