According to report from The Nation, the suspect was arraigned before Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba at the Osun State Magistrate Court on charges of burglary and theft. Police prosecutor Inspector Kayode Adeoye alleged that Omisakin broke into Shittu Damilare’s residence at Al-Medinat Area, Osogbo, at around 12:00 p.m. on the stated date. The stolen item, a plasma TV, was said to be worth ₦600,000.
Omisakin pleaded not guilty, and his counsel, Najite Okobe, requested bail on liberal terms. However, the prosecutor opposed bail, arguing that Omisakin had only recently been pardoned and had not completed his previous prison term. He was sentenced by Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara but had not served his full sentence before being pardoned.
Citing the severity of the alleged offence, Magistrate Adeyeba denied bail and ordered Omisakin’s remand in custody, adjourning the case to January 10, 2025, for a bail hearing. Further court proceedings have been scheduled for February 2025. The charges against Omisakin contravene sections 411 (1) (2), 363, and 390(9) of the Osun State Criminal Code of 2002.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
